I love to see watercolorhomedecor.com growing everyday and it has been an amazing learning experience for me so far. I wish to share with visitors and wanna-be bloggers the list of resources that have helped me through this process. I have learnt from these so far and keep learning everyday. I hope you benefit from this as much as I have. I hope to keep adding to this list and keep it up-to-date.
Abby Lawson’s guide to building a framework is an extremely useful ebook with excellent resources. I highly recommend this to anyone who needs a kickstart with their blog. I simply love her blog and she is very helpful. The best part about it is that there is no techie jargon that other guides bombard you with. For non-techies like me, it becomes difficult to follow if you have to look-up every acronym and be overwhelmed by the process.
Her post on “How to start a blog” is an example of her detailed and precise instructions. I keep going back to her blog for new resources, tidbits and advice. Besides that, generally, her blog is very beautiful. So, do visit when you get a chance.
I used Bluehost.com for hosting my site. It is a very popular web hosting and if you wish to buy multiple domains you do not have to purchase hosting again. Especially for newbie bloggers using wordpress it is the most highly recommended hosting platform. The best part about it is that you can set up multiple domains and setting up is very easy. Click on the image below for reasonably priced hosting and a free domain.
I use the Genesis framework by Studiopress because it is a really flexible parent theme in WordPress for the look I wanted. Plus, it is really, really simple to set up and use especially if you are a non-techie. Take a look at their showcase to see the creative things people have done with their websites.
You can’t go wrong with any of their themes if you are looking for a stylish and feminine genesis child theme. I have installed the Tasteful Theme and am super happy with the results. I have managed to customize my site to fit my needs and I find that it is flexible enough for a personalized feel. If you are not the creative type but are looking for a stylish theme that fits your personality, then you should probably browse through her collection. Plus, the themes are mobile responsive in keeping with Google’s current search engine requirements. Their set-up support page is very easy to follow and you can get good discounts if you refer friends.

Long Tail Pro is my keyword research tool. I use it for SEO and keyword research so people searching for specific products can find my blog. They offer a 7-day free trial period and if you keep a watch they have awesome discounts.
I am very active on Twitter and the best tool I have discovered is Commun.it . Even if you use the free version, there are ways to auto-reply to your new followers, sending messages and scheduling them in advance. The only downside to the free version is that the commun.it link appends itself. Despite that, I have had huge success with this tool.
Elke is a diamond Pro Designer at Zazzle which means she consistently makes six figures from Zazzle. Her site at elkeclarke.com is informative about latest trends at Zazzle, marketing strategies and many more tips. She also sells a free e-book called “10 Insider Tips For Making Money On Zazzle” which is an excellent resource for starting your own Zazzle store. She has the credibility of an experienced Zazzle artist and is very good at replying to questions on her blog.
Kim at fivegreenlizards.com
She has wonderful resources on how to start earning on Zazzle, setting up a niche products site and other tutorials.
I have been an Evernote Premium user for a few years now and I cannot imagine doing without it. It is the most useful tool for tucking away tidbits of information that you want to be secure but access to later. It is the best thing for bloggers to brainstorm ideas. Paper and bills that have sensitive information can be scanned and simply added to Evernote. Important documents that you want to share with someone and continue editing can be done via Evernote. It has endless uses and trust me, you will become a fan once you get the hang of it. If you do not want to purchase the premium version , the free version is good enough to be useful.
